Adult Acne

Adult affects 50% of all adult women and 25% of all adult men. These statistics included medium to sever cases of consistent break outs and do not include adults with the odd break out. Many People don’t realize that Adult acne is this common and that although, like other acne, has no pinpointed cause, dermatologist believe that hormones are more than often a major factor. It is also causes just as much social anxiety and depression in adults as it does to teens.

Treating Adult acne, like teen acne should start by getting a consultation with a Dermatologist. It is good to do a few things prior to this consultation to help the dermatologist design a skin care regiment that is unique to you.

First thing to do is get a not book and keep to keep track of your daily routine. Each day write down what you had for meals and you snacks, your skin care routine and when you do it, you sleeping habits, how you were feeling that day, and the weather. At the top of each page write down how you skin was that day, some people even like to include a picture. This may seem like a lot of work but after about a month (what I usually recommend) you should see some sort of pattern in your breakout. One or more of the things you do can contribute to your breakouts. After that the Dermatologist can help you with a good skin care regiment to control your acne. More often than not you’ll also receive a skin care product(s) that include benzoyl peroxide to help with the process.

Just try to keep in mind that it takes a while to get acne under control so if our feeling depressed or have anxiety make sure to confide in a family member or friend on how your feeling. Even an online support group can help. Your not alone.
