I agree with your tips of things to do. I have found the most important thing for me is to use mild soaps and cleaners as otherwise it aggrevates my skin more. Also, I learned the importance of not scrubbing my face as it can be very irritating and cause more breakouts.
I recently purchased a facial cleanser that works in the shower with the steam to help clear out your pores and it does make my skin look wonderful (doesn't clear the acne though). My skin glows and has a very healthy tone and although the acne is still there, it helps to see the rest of the skin looking so nice.
I also use a product by Olay that is simply a very mild cleanser in a cloth that you use to remove makeup and cleanse your face. I would also recommend that people remember to wash their pillow cases frequently. Oil and dead skin can build up on it and cause you more breakouts and keep your pillows clean. And remember to use mild lotions that wont clog pores or leave your skin oily.
