Default Sunscreen

As an acne sufferer, do you find any particular sunscreen product is better than the other? I always want to wear something on my face, but find them to be so greasy... What have you tried and found to work?

I don't usually use sun screen. I lay in a tanning bed to help the acne on my back. I usually use banana boat tanning oil or some other color developer when I lay. I don't usually break out from it but I notice I have to make sure I keep moisturized or my skin gets really dry and flaky.

I have to, have to, HAVE TO, wear sunscreen or I break out in hives. I got a sun sensitivity at around 15 or 16 out of no where and the only thing I can attribute it to is growing up in the south and spending so much time outside without sunscreen that maybe my body just overloaded lol.

That being said, almost any of the cream sunscreens I try are way to greasy. I think the best are the spray on mist kinds. You have to be careful because even some of the spray on kinds still come out really creamy and greasy. The sports kinds are usually pretty light feeling as well. I havent purchased any this year yet but I am pretty sure last year I used the sport spray one from Banana Boat, comes in a blue spray can.

Also I use Revlon ColorStay Active foundation and it contains 25 spf. I love it because it is light and doesnt cake on or feel greasy, but it stays on and doesnt rub off or run down my face is it is hot out and I am sweating my butt off at the beach.

i don't like greasy either because [1] acne and [2] it messes with my grip when i play sports. So i use coppertone's spray on. it goes to like spf 50 and its totally dry when the alcohol evaporates. is a bit pricey though.

Default Sunscreen or Sun Avoidance?

I try and stay out of any situation that involves lots of direct sunlight for any period of duration. For those of us who take minocycline, remember all our Rx bottles have or should have a notation about avoiding the sun. As for my face, I find that using one of those mineral based powders as my 'foundation' easily provides a level of coverage that works as a sunscreen. And the stuff stays on far longer than a creme sunscreen one puts on one's face, no?

If you are treating your acne condition with most conventional medication, you are required to apply sunscreen before going out and expose yourself to sunlight. A proper sunscreen will help you to reduce the sunburns and acne conditions. One should consult the therapist before applying any sunscreen as our skins have lots of difference. The sunscreen one chooses should have SPF 20 Sunscreen and moisturizer.

There is a quick-drying, very pleasant sunscreen called Bullfrog that I use. I believe it has alcohol in it so that it evaporates and does not leave noticeable residue... It's nice! I HATE putting sunscreen on my face. Especially when my face is already hot and sweaty in the sun... Ick.

I tend to use sunscreens that are hypo allergenic and have a high SPF. Clinique has worked very well for me. They have 2 different lotions, one for your face and a spray for your body. If you want to spend a little more and nothing else is keeping your skin clear, I reccommend you try this.

I was always partial to sunscreens based around some kind of cocoa butter. They are still greasy, but in a very natural, absorbant kind of way. Almost like a moisturizer if it's a good product.
