Hmm, I just learned that acne has a grading scale for the severity of it, like an earthquake - lol. Also there are different classifications of acne scars.

I am sure the dermatologists use a grading scale. I wonder what the classifications are... I am going to have to do a google search of that. LOL! I do find it facinating that with all the physicians and things, no one has found a very simple pill yet... or have they???

Yes the grading scale depends on how bad your acne is and where all you get it. They use it so it is easier to come up with a plan to help the acne. You may have just a few break outs a year or you could have something as severe as Hidradenitis Suppurativa or Acne Inversa, the most severe case. Unfortunately, there isnt a magic pill, yet lol. Birth Control did however work for me, I am just waiting for the day when I can take it again (when they have a pill that wont increase my odds of having another blood clot).

Even I have no idea about grading scales for acmes. I think you need to be a doctor or if you have big history of acme , you'll know better about them.

All I was aware of was the different types of acne... aka blackheads, whiteheads, papules, and pustules. The cystic pustules are supposedly the most sever form because they're deep and leave bad scarring if messed with too much. I used to have cystic acne in my cheeks, and my derm started me on Accutane asap to head off scarring.

Scarring is a hard thing to deal with. I think there are some treatments, like laser and such, that can help to lessen it, right?

Mederma is really helpful for clearing up scarring. I use it regularly on my scars and it makes them almost unnoticeable.
