Topical acne treaments and washes only treat the symptoms and not the root cause. As soon as you stop using them, the acne comes right back. That is because acne does not start on the skin, it starts inside the body. I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase, “you are what you eat”. I believe this is true when it comes to acne.
A persons diet plays a big role when it comes to acne breakouts.. But I also believe every person gets acne for different reasons, this is because people have different tolerances toward certain foods than others. So the question to ask yourself is, what could you be eating or drinking that might be triggering your acne breakouts? Poor digestion, hormone imbalance, food allergies and intolerances, insulin levels, toxicity of the blood or bowel and poor nutrition are a few acne causes that can be brought on by a persons diet. All of these things can also be inter-related, which adds another piece to the puzzle. The key is to identify the main things in your diet that are causing these things. I also recommend going on the Phase One Diet. The author suggests that fungus can also be a cause of acne and I believe this to be true. Since being on this diet my acne has improved remarkably. If fungus is a cause, if you take antibiotics, it can actually make acne worse. Antibiotics kill off all the bacteria in your stomach, even the good bacteria, then you have no bacteria left to kill the fungus. How control your acne after ten years, it is very remarkable.

I find that controlling what foods I eat helps to stop me get acne. Some stuff like white sugar really makes my skin much worse. I read an acne no more review so ended up reading the whole book. That basically says to cut out sugar, coffee, red meat, dairy. It's a big change but I find that it helps my skin.
