Default Has anyone tried Accutane?

accutane- It's a drug that you take for 4 months and you never have acne again. The only bad part is the four months are pretty grueling. You have very dry skin, and constantly have to wear chapstick, and drink water

Ive been reading some things about it on the internet

Yeah I used accutane when I was younger and the results were pretty amazing I'd say. I don't remember my skin being super super dry and I already drink plenty of water so that wasn't too much of an issue. I will say though that after I used accutane my skin was significantly less oily and much clearer and it still is to this day.

I have not tried it but i heard of that. Maybe that will work with some but i suggest visiting your dermatologist is the best before taking anything.

Default Accutane

My friend is on Accutane and I have to say his face is very clear. But he has to go for check ups every month to get liver tests and in the beginning he was seeing strange things. It has since stopped and he has clear skin, but just the doctor visits alone detter me from trying.

Accutane has helped many, but like all medication, it doesn't work for everyone. The best advice one can receive is from a dermatologist

I am interested in Accutane but it is pretty hard-core stuff. I had a friend use it and it really helped her, but only temporarily, once off it, it came back. I think they won't even prescribe it to women unless you prove you are on birth control bc the risk of birth defects is so great. And it must do something to your liver bc of the liver tests required. Seems like it works well but all those things scare me off from trying it.

I was on Accutane from October 2007 to May 2008.
I'm completely acne free now, although I have scars.
Blood tests every month, Ipledge system, monthly derm appts, dry skin, chapped lips, soreness.

But all in all it wasn't that bad, and totally worth it.

Ugh, they,re some pretty nasty side affects, i would defintley research and talk to a specialist before strting treatments, i already have a bad liver so ill cross this off my list.

Is there a similar product people have tried without the side effects?
