Anyone that suffers from acne wants to find the Acne treatment that will quickly and easily “cure” their acne. This usually leads to years of trying products that don’t work, building on their low self image creating depression. Before getting to that point a few things should be considered.

The first thing Acne sufferers must understand is that currently, there is no cure for acne. There is, however, many acne treatments that once combined with a good acne regiment, lead to controlling acne so sufferers can live breakout free.

The second thing is that being patient is the key, since nothing worth having comes easy. Finding the right product and sticking with it long enough to get the required results takes time. Some acne cases, especially sever ones, may not react to regular acne treatments. In these cases an acne medicine is required to control it. Find a good dermatologist and discuss with them what you have tried, your current acne regiment and what you expectations are for treatment. Don’t forget that they have seen all types of acne so there is no need to fee uneasy when they are looking over your face, they want to help.

The Main thing Acne suffers should remember is that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. There is no quick fix when it domes to acne so any product that portrays their products as a quick acne cure, should be ashamed for playing on the emotions of acne sufferers. When choosing a product look for any that have either benzoyl peroxide, sulfur, or salicylic acid since these ingredients help heal and control acne. It is possible to live breakout free it just takes time and research to find what works for you.

Relationship Between Acne and Stress

tagged , , , , and

The relationship between acne and stress has been a topic that has been debated for many years. In recent years there have been several studies that show stress can actually aggravate acne causing an increase in breakouts.

Studies that were conducted by some of the most prestige universities show that stress does aggravate acne. During the time around exams, students suffering from acne showed a significant increase in breakouts. The mixture of the stress and poor diet are a toxic mixture for acne.

There are two ways stress worsen acne:

  • By reducing the body’s ability to heal, on average reducing our abilities to heal wounds by 40%
  • By stimulating the adrenal glands (located above the kidneys), and releasing male hormones that in turn, stimulate the sebaceous gland (found in the skin). The sebaceous gland releases sebum (oil) and as and end result aggravates acne and causes breakouts.

These scientific facts alone are enough to prove stress is a major player in acne breakout and adding in the poor diets of people under stress; it is safe to say that stress and acne go hand in hand. These new developments are very important in understanding acne and its causes bringing us closer to finding better treatments.
