Acne treatments use heat to destroy bacteria

Home based laser acne treatments, ThermaClear and Zeno, have been gaining popularity. These acne treatments use heat to penetrate the layers of the skin, killing the Bactria and heal the lesion faster. So how do these devices really pan out?

Both Zeno and ThermaClear cost about $150 and in the market of home acne treatments that does lean towards the higher end treatments. These laser acne treatments have not been compared against other acne treatments so there is no proven fact that they work better. Although the FDA approved the devices, stating that they clear 90 percent of blemishes in 24 to 48 hour, it is not effective blackheads, whiteheads or cystic acne. So what does it work on then?

These devices are only meant for people that have clear skin that get the occasional single red blemish. These manufacturers, such as Houston-based Tyrell Inc. and Therative in Livermore, Calif , realizing they wasted money making devices that really don’t help acne sufferers, put it out on the market anyway knowing that if they put what it really does in the fine print it is the consumers fault for buying it. These acne treatments give false hope to acne sufferers.

It is better to keep the $150 and go to a dermatologist. Find out what triggers your breakouts and get the right acne treatment and regiment that will actually clear your acne. Clearing and controlling acne takes time and there is no “miracle cure.” Maybe someday there will be a good home laser treatment and these devices may be the stepping stone to that but until then I wouldn’t recommend these devices.

Exercise and Acne

Exercise can help in controlling acne and resulting in fewer breakouts. Exercise increased the blood flow to the skin providing more oxygen to the skin cells making the skin healthier and helps to heal blemishes and scaring. Also the moderate sweating you do when you exercise helps push out bacteria in the skins pores, clearing acne from the inside out.

Exercise will also help in the over all health of you body. You internal organs will function better. Lungs and heart will become stronger meaning more oxygen is pumped throughout the body more effectively. The digestive system will function better and be able to extract more nutrients from you foods, reducing the amount of toxins in the blood stream causing fewer breakouts. Exercise is also great for reducing stress and balancing hormones which are major contributors in the causing acne.

Exercise can be any for of activity you enjoy the increases your heart rate. Make sure that you pick an activity you enjoy so that you stick with it and try different things so that you don’t get board of the activities. It can be anything from walking your dog, going to they gym, dancing, playing sports. It’s also a good idea to get you family and friend involved by organizing a sport picnic or hiking trip.

It is also good practice to take a shower and change to clean clothes directly after exercise. This will wash away any bacteria or toxins that were desecrated through sweating and get rid of any dirt from the activities. This is especially good practice if you suffer from body acne.

Exercise is just another thing that can help to manage acne and eliminate breakouts. If you are going to start an exercise routine it is good to consult you doctor if you have any medical problem that may be affected by some activities.
